Memorial Day message from Supervisor Smith - in remembrance and gratitute

Please remember what today is all about and, in your own way, join me in honoring and remembering those brave men and women who gave their lives in military service to our country.  They have my utmost thanks – today, and every day.  We’re disappointed that nearby lightening strikes and expected severe weather forced the cancellation of our Memorial Day parade and the Rayson-Miller American Legion Post Remembrance Ceremony.  But these events, though time-honored traditions and a fitting expression of our gratitude, serve only as symbols of the appreciation and respect we carry with us always for those who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we may enjoy our our freedoms. My wishes to all for a meaningful Memorial Day.
