In addition to our ongoing collection of yard debris from May to December, each year beginning in October and ending in December, the Town of Pittsford provides a valuable recycling service to residents – the collection of leaves. In the fall, a postcard containing program guidelines, service dates and descriptions is mailed to homeowners. If you have questions or concerns about this program, please call the Town of Pittsford Highway Department at (585) 248-6270. Please note: in the event of wind storms or delayed collection due to snowfall, yard debris and leaf crews will continue pickups beyond the dates noted below, as weather allows (no set schedule).

Collection Crews' location from October 21 through December 13
2024 Leaf Collection dates: October 21 – December 13
- Our crews will be in your neighborhood approximately every three weeks from October 21 - December 13 to collect loose leaf piles. After December 13, leaf collection will be ongoing as needed, no set schedule. Consolidating small piles of leaves into larger piles will help expedite leaf pick up. During this time, crews will continue to pick up yard debris every week if it is placed in a bag/container and separated from your leaf piles. It is important to keep leaves and yard debris separated, as yard debris can damage our leaf vacuum or cause injury to crew staff. PLEASE NOTE that loose brush and branches and other yard debris must be in a container or paper bag during this time and will be picked up on an ongoing basis (no set schedule) - see Yard Debris section for information. Please note residential burning of brush and leaves is prohibited in Pittsford.
