Story Times & Kids Events
We offer a variety of story times for kids ages 0-5 throughout the week. Siblings are welcome to join in as well. To see dates and times, click on the calendar link below.

1000 Books before Kindergarten
PCL encourages families and caregivers to read 1000 books with their children before they enter kindergarten. Reading aloud to children from birth helps to strengthen language skills and build vocabulary – two important tools for learning to read.
- It's easy to reach this important milestone:
- 3 books a day for 1 year = 1095 books
- 1 book a day for 3 years = 1095 books
Sign up for 1000 Books Before Kindergarten at the Pittsford Community Library Children’s Desk. You will receive a welcome bag and learn how to track the books you read. Every 100 books read will earn you a sticker. Prizes will be awarded when 500 and 1000 books are read.
The 1000 Books incentives are available through the generosity of the Friends of the Pittsford Library.
Digital Resources Available for Kids
Overdrive Kids separates children’s eBooks, eAudiobooks, and graphic novels into a separate space for younger patrons to explore.
