Parks Department Report on Integrated Pest Management and Reduction in Use of Non-Organic Pesticides

Periodically, the Town’s Parks Department reviews its pest management practices in conjunction with Cornell Cooperative Extension and New York State Integrated Pest Management, who advise us on these matters. The purpose is to review our grounds and fields maintenance practices with a view to reducing even further the Town’s minimal use of non-organic pesticides and herbicides. The most recent review was completed in February, 2019.

The new Integrated Pest Management program presented by our Parks Foreman, Jessica Neal, accomplishes this goal. She reported it to the community at a public meeting in the Fisher Room at the Library held on March 7, 2019, with representatives from Cornell Cooperative Extension and New York State Integrated Pest Management.
