GARY MERVIS TO BE HONORED AS PITTSFORD CITIZEN OF THE YEAR ON 5/1

The Pittsford Town Board has selected Gary Mervis, chairman and founder of Camp Good Days and Special Times, as Pittsford’s 2011 Citizen of the Year. Mr. Mervis will be honored at the Pittsford Town Board meeting on Tuesday, May 1 to be held at 7:00PM in the Fisher meeting room of the Pittsford Community Library, 24 State Street. Members of the public are welcome to attend.

The Citizen of the Year award is presented annually to a Pittsford resident whose hard work, generosity and dedication has improved the quality of life in the Pittsford community. Mr. Mervis is being recognized for his tireless dedication to the children and families of our community and beyond. “Through his work at Camp Good Days, Mr. Mervis has provided comfort, inspiration and enriching experiences to thousands of children and families touched by cancer and other life challenges,” said Pittsford Town Supervisor Bill Carpenter. “The Town of Pittsford is proud to recognize his efforts and fortunate to have him as a caring and committed member of our community.”
