The Friends of the Pittsford Community Library is a 501c3 tax non-profit organization devoted to promoting awareness and knowledge of the services and needs of the Pittsford Community Library. The Friends augment Library services, programs, and materials, and support library advocacy initiatives.
The Friends hold two annual sales of donated books. The funds earned support library programs and expand the library collection. The Friends accept donations of good condition books, DVDs, and books-on-cd throughout the year. Materials can be placed in the donation box in the main library hallway or a staff member at the Information Desk can unlock the workroom for large donations. Tax donation forms are available at the Information Desk.
The Pittsford Community Library Foundation was established in 1994 to receive and manage special bequests and contributions to the Pittsford Community Library in order to augment public support of the library. PCL Foundation funding supports Library programs, books, and materials.
This support by the Foundation makes it possible for the Library to offer programs and services above and beyond those purchased with community tax dollars. Grants from the Foundation have been used for a variety of special projects: books, movies, electronic books, a sound system, projectors, murals, artwork, furniture, and online tutoring for students.
The Foundation relies on individual donations and bequests. Gifts to honor or memorialize a special person are welcomed and can be tailored to the interests of the individual. Please contact Pittsford Community Library Director Amanda Kuhnel Madigan via email or call (585) 248- 6275 to do so. General gifts of support can be made via check payable to the Pittsford Community Library Foundation and sent to:
