On Tuesday, December 7, from 4PM to 9PM, Pittsford will be filled with holiday cheer for the 39th Annual Candlelight Night celebration. Pittsford’s Village streets will come alive with the sounds of live music, carolers and sleigh bells. The white lights outlining the buildings will twinkle in the night as will the hundreds of luminaries that line the sidewalks and streets.
A Pittsford tradition, Candlelight Night provides an evening of fun for the whole family. People can enjoy shopping, dining, holiday treats, giveaways, carolers and more! There will be FREE horse-drawn wagon rides between the center of the village and the canal all night long. The pick up/drop off stops will be at the Del Monte Lodge; Northfield Common; the Schoen Place Pavilion; and on Four Corners. There will also be three Santa sightings around Town – Nothnagle Realtors on South Main Street (6:00PM to 9:00PM), Harmony in Wood on Northfield Common (6:00PM to 8:00PM) and The Coal Tower Restaurant in Schoen Place (6:00PM to 9:00PM). Mrs. Claus will share stories with children at Pittsford’s historic Little House.
Supervisor Bill Carpenter, Mayor Robert Corby and Tony Infantino from Tony Infantino in the Morning on WARM 101.3 will host 3 tree lightings beginning at 5:30PM at the Sam Patch Pavilion in Schoen Place. Two tree lightings will follow at 6:15PM in front of the Phoenix Building and at 7:00PM at the main entrance of Northfield Common. Choirs of carolers will be at each of the three tree lightings setting the tone for a fun night of shopping and browsing.
This year, merchants will also take part in a ‘CLOTHING FOR KIDS CAMPAIGN’. They are looking for donations of new or gently used children’s winter clothing. Coats, mittens, scarves, hats…bring them to one of the 3 tree lightings in the Village or to a participating merchant (The Pedestal, Bella Amore, Pittsford Lumber, Dolce Cupcakery, The Map Shop, Top Notch Monogramming, Harmony in Wood, Beads n things, Recovery Caboose, Classic Additions, Topiary). Donations will benefit children in the Rochester City School District. All used clothing must be cleaned first.
This annual event is sponsored by Pittsford Village Merchants, the Chamber of Commerce, the Del Monte Lodge Hotel and Spa, ESL Federal Credit Union, Rotary Club of Pittsford, Town of Pittsford, Village of Pittsford, WARM 101.3 and Fickle 93.3.
